Dr. Chris Bowlin has a thriving podiatry practice in Knoxville, TN. He completed his professional training at University of Louisville with a 3-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Certification. He specializes in limb salvage, deformity correction, and lower extremity wound care. His straightforward treatment philosophy is centered around comprehensive foot and ankle care and evidence-based medicine. He started SWCA-TN after recognizing a growing need for surgical wound care within his own podiatry practice. His goal is to make wound care more accessible, while also working collaboratively with patients’ care teams to expedite healing and prevent wound recurrences. He enjoys travelling and being active outdoors.

Brian Burnett, DNP, APN, FNP-C
Wound Care Specialist
Brian Burnett earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from East Tennessee State University and certification as a Family Nurse with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He has over 20 years of experience in the Emergency Room and Inpatient Hospital setting. As a Hospitalist, Brian has developed an understanding of chronic wounds and the etiology that causes them. The guiding premise of Brian’s healthcare approach is knowing that the patient is complex, variable, and unique. As an Advanced Practice Clinician (APC), his mission is to use evidenced-based practice in concert with patient-centered collaboration to improve patient outcomes.

Surgical Wound Care Associates of Arizona (SWCA-AZ) is a community-based outpatient wound care clinic located in Tucson, AZ at 6565 E Carondolet Drive STE 301, Tucson AZ 85710.
At SWCA, we treat all wounds from head to toe. What sets us apart is that we use a multi-disciplinary communication model as the basis for providing care to our patients. We work very closely with the patient, home health, primary care, vascular, podiatry, ortho and any other member of a patients health care team to ensure the wound is being treated appropriately. We also focus on preventing a wound recurrence. We treat any wound, anywhere, including wounds due to trauma, surgical wound dehiscence, venous insufficiency, lymphedema wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, burns, pressure injuries etc. We can apply skin substitutes/grafts in the office, perform appropriate wound debridement in office, manage wound vacs, utilize efficient wound care dressings. If a patient needs HBO, we refer to an appropriate center depending on where the patient lives. Our goal is to provide effective and proactive care to keep patients out of the hospital and heal their wounds. Our provider team consists of Dr. Bowlin, DPM, who started SWCA-TN and now SWCA-AZ after recognizing a growing need for surgical wound care and developing a passion for wound care after seeing a prevalence of preventable wounds presenting to his podiatry practice. Additionally, Dr. Brian Burnett, DNP, APN, FNP-C has 7 years of Hospitalist NP experience and is versed at wound etiology and rapidly correcting the underlying causation of wounds while providing in-office procedures to expedite the healing process.
